Kim Stringfellow will read from her book, Greetings from the Salton Sea: Folly and Intervention in the Southern California Landscape, 1905-2005. She will also present a slide show of the images from the book.

Paddle and Anvil Pottery Demonstration with Tony Soares
Tony Soares will give a demonstration in Paddle and Anvil Pottery, a style that was made along the shores of the Salton Sea for a 1000 years.

The Artist's Eye: Landscape Painting in the Desert
In conjunction with the exhibition "Valley of the Ancient Lake: Works Inspired by the Salton Sea" participating artists Andrew Dickson, Joe Forkan and Eric Merrell will present a talk on their work including their approaches to painting, on-location sketches and materials used to work outdoors.
The classic car club Great Autos of Yesteryear held their car show at the Museum on Oct. 31, 2010. We had a great time with them and enjoyed all the wonderful classic cars that were here!
